Nailsworth Health Partnership logoPrices Mill Patient Participation Group

All you need to know about what is going on locally in the health and well-being world in Nailsworth and Horsley

Prices Mill Surgery announced the launch of their Patient Participation Group (PPG) in July 2011. ‘The group is about creating and improving two-way communication between patients, the practice and the community it serves. We are also keen to bring a sense of partnership between the practice and its patients.’

Under recent NHS reforms, GPs have taken on significant new responsibilities to manage NHS resources, and to provide a wider range of services to our rural community. ‘The PPG will be an excellent way to obtain patients’ input in the way new facilities and services are planned and executed.  The chair of the PPG (Marilyn Miles) attends a quarterly meeting of all the PPGs in the local area (Stroud and Berkeley Clinical Commissioning Group - CCG).  For more information contact Marilyn by email

You can get further details from the Prices Mill Surgery website at www.pricesmill.co.uk. If you are interested in getting involved, and are a registered patient of the practice, please contact the Practice Manager on 01453 839719 or PPG member Liz Green on 01453-836910 or email her.

Recent inspection of the surgery by the Care Quality Commission

The results of the recent CQC inspection report is now public.  The surgery was rated GOOD in all areas that they looked at.  The PPG was praised for its involvement with the surgery and the practice was complemented on the way that it responded to the comments and feedback from the PPG.  For the full report click here

The next meeting of the PPG  will be held on Wednesday July 5th 1st 2017 at the surgery at 12:30.

The PPG has brought together interested parties to progress the idea of Nailsworth becoming a Dementia Friendly Town.  At the first meeting on October 4th we decided to have an open afternoon at the Mortimer Rooms, Old Market (next to the library) on Saturday December 3rd 2016 2 pm to 4 pm.  Short talks at 2.30 and 3.30 followed by Question and Answer session with Dr Ros Mulhall from Prices Mill surgery.  More details will be available here and on the Prices Mill surgery website

A new NHS website has been launched to help transform children and young people's mental health and well-being.  It can be accessed here

The PPG has adopted a code of practice which includes a Confidentiality Policy.  It can be accessed here

Annual survey of patients
Every year GP practices are expected to carry out a survey of their patients' experience of the services of the practice.  The PPG is helping the practice choose questions that reflect the concerns of patients.  In September 2016 these surveys will be sent out to a sample of patients.  If you get one - please complete it so we know what you think and we can work together to improve things. You can also be part of a virtual patient representation group by signing up here
